Berkshire Hathaway

Here is it: the mothership. World headquarters of Berkshire Hathaway for over fifty years.

Located in Kiewit Plaza, this is where Warren Buffet spends his time finding new deals for Berkshire and overseeing the operations of its subsidiary companies.

As you can imagine, dropping in to say hi is frowned upon and you won’t make it past the front desk without an appointment.

History & Trivia

After officing at home for years as the head of his various investment partnerships, Warren moved into Kiewitt Plaza on January 1, 1962. He would merge his partnerships and, among other things, began investing in textile manufacturing company Berkshire Hathaway, eventually assuming control of it.

Occupies an entire eighth floor with approximately twenty people working there.

Peter Kiewit Sons’ Incorporated, one of the largest construction and contracting companies in the world is also headquartered in Kiewit Plaza.

Walter Scott, the former CEO of Kiewit, serves on the board of Berkshire Hathaway.

Warren has no stock ticker in his personal office although he has recently shared that he allowed the purchase of a couple for use by others at the Berkshire office.
